Boundary Mapping for use with PinPoint. Installing this unlocks the benefits and optimizes your time and your crops.  Using your existing Shape files, or Capstan’s own DAT files get you applying with an the CapstanAG Advantage.

Install CapMaps Software

If you have a previous version of the CapMaps Software on your computer, you must uninstall that version before installing a new version of the software.

  1. Click on Download CapMaps Software.
    • The software will automatically begin downloading to your computer.
  2. When the software download is complete, Open the Download Folder on your computer.
  3. Extract all files from the zipped folder.
  4. Open the extracted folder.

Uninstall CapMaps Software

  1. Open the Control Panel for your computer.
  2. Select Uninstall a Program.
  3. Select CapMapsSetup from the list of installed programs.
  4. Click Yes to confirm the uninstall.
    • When the uninstall is complete, close the list of installed programs.

Draw a New Map

  1. Open the CapMaps Software shapefile converter application.
  2. Go to: File > New Map
  3. Use the + or – to zoom into the desired location.
  4. Select the type of map you would like to view while setting polygons in the map selection field.
    • Google Maps
    • Google Earth/Satellite
    • Wiki Maps
    • Open cycle maps
    • Closed cycle maps
  5. Set points along the boundary.
    • For curves, the more points you set the more accurate the boundary line will be.
    • You can also manually enter the latitude and longitude coordinates.
  6. When you have set all the points desired along the boundary, click the Stop Polygon icon.
  7. Enter the name  of the field in the window that shows on the screen.
  8. Click OK.
    • To add another field to the same map, repeat steps 5, 6, and 7.
    • To add a No Spray Area within an existing field, repeat steps 5, 6, and 7.
      • Make sure that the No Spray Area is completely within a Spray Area.
    • If points are added within a No Spray Area, that area will become a Spray Area.
  9. When all the Spray / No Spray areas are on the map, select : File > Save at PinPoint II Map.
    • IMPORTANT : Make sure that you save the map to the external memory device.

Convert a Shapefile to a PinPoint II Map

  1. Open the CapMaps Software shapefile converter application.
  2. Go to: File > Open Shapefile
  3. Select the desired Shapefile to open.
  4. The shapefile will show in red on the Google Map.
  5. If desired, change the type of map you would like to view:
    • Google Maps
    • Google Earth/Satellite
    • Wiki Maps
    • Open cycle maps
    • Closed cycle maps
  6. To save the shapefile as a PinPoint II boundary file, select : File > Save as PinPoint II Map.
    • IMPORTANT : Make sure that you save the map to the external memory device.

Batch Converting Shapefiles to PinPoint II Maps

  1. Open the CapMaps Software shapefile converter application.
  2. Go to: File > Batch PinPoint II Map Conversion
  3. Select the desired Shapefiles to convert.
  4. All converted shapefiles will save as PinPoint II Maps to the external memory device within the same name as the original files.
  5. To view the converted shapefiles, select : File > Open Shapefile and select the desired PinPoint II map.

Upload a Boundary File to the CapView II Display

  1. Insert the external memory device into the CapView II display.
  2. Select Upload Maps.
  3. Select the desired map(s) or select Upload all Maps.
  4. The upload is complete when the blue scroll bar at the bottom of the CapView II disappears.
  5. Remove the external memory device.

Use a PinPoint II Map on the CapView II Display

  1. Press the Escape/Maps button.
  2. Select Retrieve Maps.
  3. Select the desired boundary map.
  4. The upload is complete when the blue scroll bar at the bottom of the CapView II display disappears.
  5. Press the Escape/Maps button twice to go to the main screen.
  6. You are now ready to spray.
