Opti-Rate™ is Steel Green’s next-generation liquid application system, developed in partnership with Capstan Ag—an industry leader in spray technology for over 30 years. This intelligent rate control system automates spray output using nozzle-by-nozzle pulsing, turn compensation, and real-time operator feedback.

By maintaining a consistent droplet size and exact application rates, regardless of ground speed or terrain, Opti-Rate delivers superior coverage, reduces chemical waste, and cuts costs—so operators can work faster, smarter, and more accurately.

HOW IT WORKS

Lock onto rate. Drive to the terrain.

Opti-Rate allows the flow rate and pressure to be controlled independently by using a electric PWM application solenoid at each tip. The spray pattern is blended pulse sprayed to adjust for flow changes while being locked onto target rate.

Zero turning radius makes for excellent machine control. However, in traditional spray applications rate during turns can greatly vary as the outside boom is traveling at a much faster speed than the inside. This creates an under application on the outside, and over application on the inside. Because Opti-Rate is controlling the flow to each nozzle, it compensates the flow during turns for even and repeatable application regardless of obstacles.
