CapMaps Software - Boundary Mapping Download Software

Install CapMaps Software


If you have a previous version of the CapMaps Software on your computer, you must uninstall that version before installing a new version of software.

Click on Download Software (2).
When the software download is complete, open the download folder (3) on your computer.

On your computer, open a web browser and go to: www.capstanag.com/CapMaps (1).

IMPORTANT: Capital letters must be used in CapMaps when typing the web address.

Click on Download Software (2).

The software will automatically begin downloading to our computer.

When the software download is complete, open the download folder (3) on your computer.

Extract all files from the zipped folder.

Open the extracted folder.

Select and open the CapMapsSetup folder (1).

Select and open the CapMapsSetup folder (1).

Select and open the Release folder (1).

Select and open the Release folder (1).

Double click setup (1).

Double click setup (1).

The setup wizard will start.

Click Next > (1).

Click Next > (1).

Make sure that the program will be installed in the desired location.

When the installation in complete, click Close (2).

You can watch the installation process progress (1).

Double click the CapMaps Software icon to start the program.

A CapMaps Software icon will show on the desktop screen.

Uninstall CapMaps Software


Open the Control Panel for your computer.
Select Uninstall a Program (1).

Select CapMapsSetup (1) from the list of installed programs.

Select CapMapsSetup (1) from the list of installed programs.

Click Yes (1) to confirm the uninstall.

When uninstall is complete, close the list of installed programs.

Draw a New Map


Open the CapMaps Software shapefile converter application.

Go to: File > New Map

Use the + or - to zoom into the desired location.

Select the type of map (1) you would like to view while setting polygons in the map selection field.
Click the Start Polygon icon (2).

Set points (1) along the boundary.
When you have set all the points desired along the boundary, click the Stop Polygon icon (2).

Enter the name (1) of the field in the window that shows on the screen.
Click OK (2).

To add another field to the same map, repeat steps 5, 6, and 7.

Make sure that the no spray area (1) is completely within the spray area.

When all the spray/no spray areas are on the map, select: File > Save As PinPoint® II Map.

IMPORTANT: Make sure that you save the map to the external memory device.

Convert A Shapefile Into A PinPoint® II Map


Open the CapMaps Software shapefile converter application.

Go to: File > Open Shapefile

Select the desired Shapefile to open.

The shapefile will show in red (1) on the Google map.

If desired, change the type of map (1) you would like to view.

To save the shapefile as a PinPoint® II boundary file, select: File > Save As PinPoint II Map.

IMPORTANT: Make sure that you save the map to the external memory device.

Batch Converting Shapefiles to PinPoint® II Maps


Open the CapMaps Software shapefile converter application.

Go to: File > Batch PinPoint II Map Conversion.

Select the desired Shapefiles to convert.

All converted shapefiles will save as PinPoint® II Maps to the external memory device with the same name as the original files.

To view the converted shapefiles, select File > Open Shapefile and select the desired PinPoint® II map.

Upload a Boundary File to the CapView Display


Insert the external memory device into the CapView II display.
Select Upload Maps.

Select the desired map(s) or select Upload all Maps.
The upload is complete when the blue scroll bar at the bottom on the screen disappears.

Remove the external memory device.

Use a PinPoint® II Map on the CapView Display


Press the Escape/Maps button. Select Retrieve Maps.

Press the Escape/Maps button twice to go to the main screen.

Select the desired boundary map.

Press the Escape/Maps button twice to go to the main screen.

You are ready to spray.
